Legal Question in Traffic Law in North Carolina

I received a speeding ticket for 70 in a 55. I really can't afford to have a ticket on my insurance (or my license suspended). Would it be best to have an attorney represent me, or should I plan on representing myself and pleading PJC if need be? This would be the first ticket on my record. What are the chances of them reducing it to a 64 in a 55?

Chances are probably good. If your record is clean in the past three years, get a reduction. If you have a prior speeding ticket, use a PJC. Note you are allowed one 9 over per driver and one PJC per HOUSEHOLD in a three year period - anything above that will have insurance consequences. Some counties also give non moving violations and that would be your best option if offered.
