Legal Question in Workers Comp in North Carolina

Discrimination

I would like an expert view in a case of disciplinary action taken by my employer against me. I find it as an act of discrimination to be blamed for the actions of a co-worker at Modern Nissan. The story is simple: a needed new tires the mechanic told me so I brought customer back to allow mechanic to explain, the mechanic offer to sell her his 4 tires for $20 in front of me, 5 mins later I told mechanic i didnt feel good about that since it was taking from the company he mention the mechanic always do this...then off of the trade in cars and not his personal car, i told him NO...no way i wasnt going to be a part of that - l told customer that was wrong - got her a loaner car so she could go to work - the mechanic - told the manager and I was spoke too and said this is the second time I had this issue - i tried to explain - then 5 mins later i was fired. the mechanic is still there. I need to know what are my rights.

Based on these facts no discrimination has occurred. Discrimination require that you are punished or otherwise treated differently based on your (race, gender, age, religion, national origin, or disability). You didn't mention those here as being the factor.

Unfortunately, in NC you can be fired for any reason other than discrimination, even if the firing would be considered wrong. Here, I would have recommend you should have gone to the management immediately so the blame was placed in the right place.

Speak to an employment law attorney in your area for a second opinion after a more indepth review.
