Legal Question in Workers Comp in North Carolina

Medical Set-Aside Account

I received a check for Medicare Set-Aside Account and feel I will never exhaust these funds. Am I bound to deposit this into a interest bearing account? Am I suseptable for someone double checking me to see if I have done this or not?

Re: Medical Set-Aside Account

You should review materials on the website at the Centers for Medicare and Medicad Services to see what your obligations are with respect to a self-administered Medicare Set-Aside. Bottomline: If you decide to spend the money on anything else but related future medical treatment, you will likely have significant trouble getting Medicare to pay for any of said treatment in the future.

Have you applied for Social Security disability benefits? You can link to the CMS website from our links page at ncworkcomp.com or ncdisability.com.
