Legal Question in Business Law in North Dakota

I was part of a Incorporated business with another person. The Company failed and now I'm getting collection calls from a business that the other person had setup an account with in his name before I invested into the business. I was a contact name and that was all. We had incorporated 6 months after I had invested and change the name on the account from his to the business name and we did have a tax id number, an business checking account and he was setup as president and i was setup as the seceratary. Can they legally come after me only for the amount owed. The collection firm sent me the papers and all they had was my name and the other person's phone number and the wrong address

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. They apparently are coming after you. The issue is whether they can prevail or not. That's not possible to say without a detailed examination of all documents, including whatever you signed. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
