Legal Question in DUI Law in North Dakota

My son (now age 36) hadhis license revolked when living in North Dakota for DUIs. He has since moved to GA, paid the fines required byND, attended counseling, and completed DUI classes. Now, ND is requiring him to get high risk insurance before returning his license. He does not live in ND, does not plan to move to ND, nor does he have a vehicle yet. What can he do to get his license back?

I don't practice in GA, so I can't comment on GA law. But if your son had a suspended license in GA and moved to ND, he would have to do what ever GA required before ND would give him a license. In the scenario I just recited he would have to prove he had insurance before he would be given a drivers license. In other words most states will not give a person a drivers license if suspended in any other state.
