if you file chapter 7, can you keep loans on certain things as well as being discharged from other? Also what is a right to redeem property all about?

You may reaffirm any debts that you wish in the bankruptcy, provided such reaffirmations do not work as a hardship on the debtor. A debtor may redeem property by paying to the trustee either in a lump sum or in payments the fair market or agreed value of an item of property in the estate.
