Legal Question in Business Law in Ohio

I�m trying to help my brother and need some advice.

He previously worked for a company that services pools in the tri-state area and resigned in the fall to start his own company (partners with my sister) to service pools (provide chemicals). His previous company is suing him. He got a lawyer to represent him that has really done nothing for him except charge him +$6000.00 and agreed to a list of clients (he�s never seen) that he would stay away from. Since he�s never seen a list, he�s moved on to working. In the meantime he previous employer has been stalking him, harassing him, taking pictures, emails, mail, phone calls, etc. threatening my brother. My brother has nothing left ($ wise) for an attorney, hence, he�s on his own to represent himself on Sept 2nd in Butler County. He received a request for deposition this past week due on Sept 17th from his ex-employers attorney. Does he have to respond to it?

Any advice you can provide him prior to court would greatly be appreciated.

Also, as for the list of clients, who's to say this man didn't just pull every pool owner in the tri-state? Is there anything he can do about this list?

This is quite the story but your brother needs to go back to his original attorney and demand some action. This is serious stuff and your brother can not possibly defend himself in court. And yes, since he is a party to the lawsuit he MUST appear at the deposition even without a subpoena.
