Software License Transfer

Upon sale of a company, does that company's software licenses automatically transfer to the new owner? Or is a specific clause required in the license agreement?

Re: Software License Transfer

The software license belongs to the corporation. If the corporate shares were sold, the license is still in effect. If the corporate assets, not the shares, were sold, the terms of the license would determine whether it is still valid. Most single user licenses would not transfer in an asset sale.
