Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Ohio

Need Guideness

I am currently employed at a company that will be completely shutdown in June of this year. My husband received a letter from either a past employee or current employee at his place of work. The letter contented false information about me having an affair with my boss. President-Executive Assistant relationship.

The letter did have a P.O. box number. Is there anything I can do to this particular person legally? If I found out who sent the letter.

I called the post office and the situation is currently being review by internal affairs with the USPS.

Also, it mentions my husband suing the company and the letter referenced my boss. Should it become a company issue?

Sincerely,

Re: Need Guideness

If this is not true about you and your boss. then this is defamation and you have damages and a claim against the sender. You can ultimately subpoena the post office for the po box info. You boss could also do the same. I am not sure how the company was defamed.
