Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio

Collecting by a woman scorned

My husband decided that he wanted to work out our marriage. His now ex-girlfriend feels he now owes her for all the money she spent on hotel stays and food. If he does not pay it she will take him to small claims court. Can she do this?

Re: Collecting by a woman scorned

You can sue anybody at any time for any reason. She must be able to prove that these items were loans, or that he agreed to repay her in some fashion. Failing that, they would be considered as gifts.
