Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio

In brief- my school made a financial aid error and I was overawarded $7,000.00. Because of their mistake they will not release my diploma or transcripts until I pay the money back. Am I repsonsible for the money and if so os there a way for them to release my information before I pay it back? This is the second time this has happened at this school.

Unfortunately you need to pay the money back to them. Despite the fact that it is their mistake they are allowed to hold your diploma until you pay the money back. Perhaps a payment plan can be worked out with them.
