Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio
In the state of ohio is a verbal agreement considered a valid contract? We made a verbal agreement to loan $60,000.00 to my ex-employer, now he will not pay back the money. I will have to sue him. What are my chances. Is the contract valid?

Yes verbal (oral) agreements are valid. Your chances to win a case against your ex-employer depends on whether you can prove you had the agreement and what the terms where. The hardest thing about oral contracts is that it can turn into a battle of what you say versus what he says. Your chances of being successful increase if you can show supporting evidence to back your claims - things such as receipts, invoices, and things like that.
