Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

In 2006 I got a ticket from a Highway Patrolman. I kicked someones car. I was charged with criminal damaging in the Highest Misdemeanor. I never went to a trial. It was reduced to disorderly conduct. TO lowest misdemeanor or almost traffic violation. I was not arrested at all that day. I paid the damages to the vehicle. THis year I was arrested on a bench warrant for not paying those court costs. I thought were paid. Got hired at Wal-Mart. They are doing a background check. Am I going to have a problem? I know the application asked if I have ever been convicted of a felony/misdemeanor. I also do not know how to answer that question being that I never went to trial. What do I put for that question so my applications are easier.?

you have to admit to the arrest, but if the question is conviction, you can say no convictions if the type of disoderly conduct you plead to was a minor misdemeanor, the lowest one....you can only know for sure by contacting the court or checking on their website....if it is minor misdemeanor, then you an say that wasnt a conviction....but the arrest will be there....they should see that in a good background check....
