Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

attorney statistics/ratio wins v losses

Does the State of Ohio keep the statistics of attorneys with regard to their specialities, ratio of wins v/s losses and how many pleas are taken as compared to litigation? Is it fair that a defendant charged with agg. murder with a firearm spec. be assigned an attorney who admitted to having very little experience litigating murder cases? He (the attorney) admitted that he rarely goes to trial as he more likely than not, ''almost always'' recommends his clients to take a plea, rather than litigating the case. The attorney in this case specializes in family law.

Re: attorney statistics/ratio wins v losses

There is no place to go to get those statistics. Sounds to me like your lawyer needs help and so the Defendant needs to make sure he makes available all witnesses and otherwise does all the leg work. Most attorneys can handle a trial if that's necessary, and by far 98% of all cases get pled out, so every attorney will have similar plea rates.
