Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

Disorderly Conduct Charge in Ohio

I was charged with disorderly conduct on my 20th birthday. Now I'm applying to medical school and some schools ask whether I have ever been convicted of a crime. I've read that a disorderly conduct charge is considered a minor misdemeanor and will not give me a criminal record in ohio. Is this true? And will it show up on a criminal backgroun check?

Re: Disorderly Conduct Charge in Ohio

A disorderly conduct charge may have been a minor misdemeanor or it may have been a misdmeanor 4. You will need to look at the court file if you don't remember. If you had an attorney, you may want to call and ask some advice.

You do not want to mess up an application for medical school by not including something that shows up in their investigation. The failure to list the offense may cause you more trouble than the fact that it exists. You should be able to get the information directly from the court but for something this important, you should probably get some direct legal advice.

Feel free to give me a call if you want more information.

Good Luck!
