Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

License Suspension and Driving Privilages

I was recently sentenced to Community Control Probation for a felony drug charge in Ohio. I was allowed to return to my home state of Texas to wait for my probation to be transfered(Im still waiting). Along with probation my drivers liscense was suspended for six months, and my probation officer told me that since the judge didn't say anything in court at the sentencing about having driving privilages she didn't think I would be allowed to drive to work and back when I find a job. I am currently living with my parents who are both elderly and we live a VERY good distance from the city. My mother cant drive me to town all the time and my father cant drive at all, so its pretty impossible to obtain a job without the ability to dependably drive myself to work and back. Is there anything I can do to obtain driving privilages so I will be able to get to and

from work? This is really holding me up on finding a job, and I need to since it is part of any probation! If there is anything, do I need to retain a lawyer to take care of it or is this something I can do on my own with the court? Thanks.

Re: License Suspension and Driving Privilages

I generally obtain driving privileges for my clients by making a motion with the trial court. What court are you in and who is the judge?

The ordinary course of events is to request an occupational license to drive to and from work.
