Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

Locating a sex offender.

How can we locate a man who lived in our community for a few years, and has been identified as a sex offender by other parties, and now our child indicates that he had been abused by this man. He has reportedly been incarcerated for this and/or other offenses; probably in the state of Ohio. We have been in touch with Atty. Jack King, of Cleveland, Ohio, who says that he will handle the case, but we need to locate him first. Time is running out, due to our sons age, and we need to know how we can access any records to find his current location or residence. Thank you !

Locating a sex offender

The internet offers myriads of search tools. I would suggest starting at http://www.cyber411.com then trying http://www.refdesk.com.

If your attorney is subscribed to any law-related listservs, he can find anyone with ease. If your attorney is not an internet user, get another attorney.

Locating a sex offender

If the individual is required to report as a sex offenderthere is a database under Megan's Law which you could search.

It is available via the InterNet at: http://www.sexoffenders.net/. This database is available ONLY for California.

have you contacted the local DA ? this might be your next step

Good Luck.
