petty theft 101

i got caught shoplifting at filenes basement , the item that i never took out of the store but it was found on my person . was a pair of cufflinks ( stupid i kno ) which were priced at $20.00 , because im a convicted felon i was arrested and booked . i now have 2 go 2 court and plea on tuesday . i kno im guilty . so i plan on pleading guilty , in an ohio court rroom / not 2 mention im on probation .

You may want to wait to plead guilty until you know what that would do to your probation status. Since your posting does not indicated what the prior offense of conviction was, it is difficult to predict. In any case, I would not be in a hurry to plead guilty to this theft offense unless you are looking to go back to prison.

I suggest you hire an attorney to address both the probation revocation and the theft offense as a package. It may be possible to avoid returning to prison, but if you simply plead guilty the options open to your attorney later -- when the probation revocation issue arises -- become much more limited.
