Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

stolen check, forged

My daughters boyfriend stole a check from my Mom....it was a check that belonged to the church, so it wasn't my Mom's personal checks...but she was responsible for them. He forged her name and tried to cash it at the local bank which called her and the police. What could he be charged with? Ohio
