transcripts

Does an inmate have the right to free transcripts from their trial.

Also shouldn't a persons mental condition come into play during a trial. Schizophrenia. This person was diagnosed while in prison, released, stopped taking medication, back in prison now can't get medication. why? Does he have a right to his medication?

You can get the county to pay for a transcript of a trial for an appeal if you are indigent. Assuming that the time for an appeal has not passed and you are in prison, you would most likely qualify. An application would have to be filed with the trial court or the court of appeals. There may be other issues that would justify a copy of the transcript being provided. In any event, it sounds like there are some important issues that need to be looked at. You should definitely talk to a criminal lawyer who does both trial and appellate work.
