Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

Underage Consumption Plea

I am 20 years old and have been charged with underage consumption. I do not feel the need to hire a lawyer, I am not fighting the charge. I would preferably like to take care of this matter as quickly and inexpensively as possible. What would the best plea be to enter for this situation in order to have the fines and jailtime thrown out (I'm assuming they will be, this is the first offense on my record) I would also like to take the alternative class to remove this from my record.

Re: Underage Consumption Plea

At your arraignment you need to ask the court if they have diversion programs. While you do not feel the need to have a lawyer, you need one. This is a criminal offense for which you can go to jail for 6 months.

If they do not have a program, then you can ask to be appointed a lawyer if you make less than 20,000 or so. There are reductions and outcomes you get from a lawyer that you dont know about. Court is not a place to go in alone.
