Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

My wife has a felony on her record. She has only been in trouble one time in her life and she got the harshest punishment in the most conservative county in Ohio. 7 Years later she is wanting to move on, she is applying for jobs in the South. She hired an attorney to have this expunged in July. She payed him the balance 18 days a go. She was hired or was about to be hired today..the company did a national background check and her charge came up. My question is..the attorney who has done nothing to file this expungement is he at fault ? The othet question how long does the expunge process take ?

It's not the lawyers fault. She should have waited until after she went in front of the judge and received the order to seal the record. Expungements can take however long it takes to get a hearing with the judge on the motion.
