Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Ohio

discrimination?

I submitted an application and was give two interviews. At this time I was also given a test for pre employment screening.I was also given a verbal job description.During this time the dept. lead made some off handed comments about someone my age not being married.I was called a few days latter by HR and was told that I had a third interview scheduled with the store manager, and that the following week I would start training classes.I spoke with the store manager. He told me I was way over qualified for the position but if I wanted it he had no dought I could do the job.He finished the interview by saying what he expected of the job.I waited 3 days before I called the dept. lead, I told them my name and who I needed to speak with. The person who answered yelled across the room to the dept. lead ''it's your girl friend.'' I asked him what was going on so I could schedule my training classes. He told me that he didn't know anything that HR. and the store Manager did the hiring.

The very next day I receive a letter from the dept. lead saying no positions were available for the job I applied for!But they did hire someone for that job and had them in training.

Were any laws broken in my case?

Re: discrimination?

It is possible that you are a victim of sexual discrimination. You need to see the local office of the EEOC and get a complaint on file. This is the first step. After filing the complaint, the government will review your case and decide if they want to take it. If they do not, you can then hire a private attorney.

Good luck.
