child custody of out of wedlock child

Had to take paternity test child proved to be mine weighing my options on fighting for custody rights or giving up rights to avoid childs mothers drama. At the paternity testing I was cursed out by infants mom I did not know if the child was mine didn't hear from her mother for seven months then received paternity testing request in mail by child support agency what are my options please

Regardless of how you're treated by the mother and her family, you have some legal protections as the child's father if you choose to be involved. With rights come responsibilities, however. In deciding the extent of involvement in your child's life, focus on what is best for the child, decide whether you can do what is best, and then act on your decision.
