Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Child Support

I filed for a increase in Child Support May of 2001, my ex-husband contested the increase. The court found that he had lied about his income, now the paper work is lying on a judges desk in Brown Co. Ohio and has been there for a year and four months. Is this normal for a judge to put a Child Support increase off this long and is it legal for them to do that. My ex-husband is a police officer in a small town in Brown Co. and I have had a lot of trouble getting things done. I am wondering if this is part of that problem. Thank you.

Re: Child Support

The Judge is not under a deadline to respond to the motion. However, you should call the bailiff on a regular basis to find out what the problem is as the Judge is a busy person and your individual matter may have been misplaced in the system.

Good Luck
