Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

divorce

i'm thinking about filing for a divorce, everything is in my name, house, all bills because my husband years ago had some problems with co-signing for his old girlfriend, and had bad credit so everything is in my name now. i do not know where to start and what what to do before i even talk to him about this matter of a divorce. will there be problems with everything being in my name? do i need to do things ahead of time to ensure that our son will have a house to live in and i will be able to have him help pay for the bills. just do not know whats right and what i'm suppose to do. if you can give me some information on the matter i would greatly appreciate it.

Re: divorce

First, if you think you can get your husband to agree, you should consider a dissolution. They are much less expensive in both money and anguish. Everything being in your name is not a problem, but rather your advantage. Some people try to hide assets during a divorce, in your case that will not be a problem. Your other questions have to do with laws governing the division of property. You will need legal advice for those to go through all of your assets seperately. Please feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss the matter further. Best regards, Edward dicato
