Grand theft

My nephew got married last Sept 13,2008 & his wife left him In early October of 2008 & she took all the wedding presents which is a lot of money he wanted nothing but thought it best to return them to the wedding guests since the marriage did not last do we have any legal recourse against his ex wife to be such as theft or stealing or grand larceny.

Your nephew could file a divorce and seek the return of half or the cash value if the items are gone. I donot see a crime, since they ae as much hers as your nephew's.
