Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

menacing

can a parent file for a restraining order on behalf of his or her 22 year-old daughter who is living on her own, receiving threatening and harassing phone calls and other contacts from the father of her daughter, and who is afraid to file for one herself?

are there any other recourses to deal with this situation?

Re: menacing

You can file a police report and ask the prosecuter to file a criminal restraining order, however, your daughter's statement will probably be necessary. Your daughter can also get a civil restraining order through an attorney or the battered women's shelter. One other avenue is to file phone harassment charges, if appropriate.
