Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

My rights to my newborn son

I have a baby due in september. The mother and I are not together and she seems to want to call all the shots with our unborn son. I am afraid that when he is born she will try and stop me from seeing him. I just want to be part of his life. Do i have rights?

Re: My rights to my newborn son

Yes you do. Make sure you acknowledge paternity by your name being on the child's birth certificate as the father. Or go through the court system to acknowledge paternity.

If you are not married to the mother you will need to file a motion for parental rights with the domestic court in your county. Feel free to contact our office for a consultation if you are near Columbus.
