Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

spouse support

I have been a homemaker for 14yrs, didn't finish High School. Want to know if I would be eligiable for spousal support besides the child support, until I finish school to become a respitory theripst. This will take aprox. 13-15 months. I have never had to work and always have been supported by him.

Re: spouse support

Spousal support is not out of the question. It can be negotiated between the parties, or may be awarded by the court. The length of your marriage, your educational needs/desires, your contribution to the household, among other issues, will be considered in determining if, and how much, support you may receive.

Re: spouse support

The rule of thumb is one year of spousal support (alimony ) for every 3 years of marriage.

Good luck
