Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio

I am accused of wrongful termination and slandor.

After repeated accusations of on the job drug use I fired an employee who is a minor. After discussions with his parents it was agreed that if he showed me that he passed a drug test that he could keep his employement. It was over a year since i heard from him. My employer has recently received a letter from and attorney seeking an ''amicable solution'' or they are going to pursue a wrongful termination and slador suit against me personally and my employer. I would like to know what if any help i am entitled to from my employer. Any other information you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

If your employer has insurance coverage, you should be covered as well. Your employer should provide its insurance carrier with a notice of the claim. The insurance carrier will then make a determination as what coverage, if any, applies. Even if there is no coverage, it is possible that the insurance carrier would still have a duty to defend you and your employer (i.e., provide you with (and pay for) legal counsel).
