Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio

blackmail?

so i was dating a guy for almost 2

years, while we were dating i sent

him so very private pictures, we are

not dating anymore, and he will not

leave me alone, i have considered

getting a restraining order, but now

he is threatening to post those

pictures on the internet if i don't

hang out with him. i was underage

when they were taken, however i

can't prove that, i'm just wondering if

this is considered blackmail or not,

Re: blackmail?

I think immediately that if you can prove to the police that they were underage pictures, he would be guilty of some crime(s).

This sounds like also a civil cause of action like civil extortion or at least intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The restraining order applies when you are in fear of him hurting you. That would keep him away from you. If the pictures are illegal, you could get his attention with the police and/or a restraining order.

Raising some legal action might give you leverage to have him deliver them back to you. If he publishes the pictures you would have an invasion of privacy claim and others that could get you compensation as well.
