Can an expert be required to disclose whether or not he or she has testified in other cases?

Yes, an expert can be required to disclose if he has testified before and if it was for the plaintiff or defendant. As I am sure you are aware, this is to show if the expert has any bias one way or the other. However, I would not do this at trial, but at a deposition.
