Legal Question in Insurance Law in Ohio

I was involved in a vehicle accident, and was NOT cited. My car is an 1996 Lexus ES350. it has many miles on it, but looked and ran very well. The damage involves the right front fender, radiator, headlight display, and hood. I'm sure there is other minor issues too, but otherwise it is STILL a viable source of transportation. I am fearful that an insurance adjuster will just total this vehicle. I want it to be FIXED. I won't get much of a vehicle for two or three thousand bucks, and I think to fix it may cost slightly more. How do I facilitate this process? I love my car, and feel it would be wasteful to just junk it. Do I have any recourse??

Speak with your adjuster - you likely have an option where they'll offer you some money to have the car fixed but won't totally pay for the repairs. It's commonly referred to as 'salvage title.' You'll need to get the car inspected post-repair in order to prove your car is road-worthy and have a new, clean title (when the car is salvaged you won't be able to legally drive it until you pass the inspection).
