Legal Question in Insurance Law in Ohio

medical bills

Daughter hospitalized and apparently saw a dr while in hopsital-2years ago. Dr claims we owe $300.00 and now a lawyer group is threatening for us to pay or for it to go to colletcions. We have never received a bill and furthermore both of our insurances state there was was no claim made on behalf of the dr for the servies rendered. I feel we have no reason to pay the bill. The the dr sould go through to the insuraces and most likely it will be denied at this late date. But he has the ability to appeal if he so desires. How do I keep my credit report from getting ruined from this dr and lawyers. I spoke with them and they said we still owe the money even with the insurance info presented.

Re: medical bills

It sounds to me like you are being punished for the negligence of the Dr. who failed to bill within a reasonable time. If it was me, I would threaten a countersuit based on consumer protection laws. Unfortunately, you have got to ask yourself how much of a fight it is worth for $300.00? Feel free to contact me if you have further questions. Best regards, Edward DiCato
