Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Ohio

Nubain during 2nd trimester given at hospital

I lost my child the day before my due date. i was hospitalized 5 months pregnant with a kidney infection and for four days i was given nubain for pain every three hours which is a narcotic. after my child was stillborn i got on the internet and it says that nubain is known to cause fetal illnesses and diseases. do i have a case and also would it be smart for me to obtain my medical records or get an attorney to subpoena them?

My sympathies are with you. To go to full term, lose your child, and then find out that it might have been avoided must be devastating.

You should contact an attorney immediately. The statute of limitations (the time in which you must file a law suit) on a medical malpractice case is one year from the date of occurance or the knowlege of it.

An attorney will probably get the records in a more complete form and quicker. Feel free to contact me. 216..227..0900.
