Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

I had a car stolen taken on a high speed police chase and the car was driven into a ravine and totaled. The driver/perp. is in jail had no insurance and lived with his mother.I had only liability insurance on this car. I had to pay $300+ for wench and towing ,then since it was totaled signed it over to the junk yard. The car was worth about $4500.00. I feel very victimized and would like to know if there is anyway to recoup this loss I dont have any $$ to buy a car and need one. Thank You for responding.

There a 3 routes you can take.

...the first is staying involved in the criminal case...the court can order restitution to be paid by the defendant. This becomes a part of his probation and must be paid before he is released.

.....the second route is to sue the person and if he is under 18, then his parents...

...the third is to file something with the state government called victims of crimes....the state pays you and your lawyer for having been a victim..

you should start with one and follow them all thru until you are fully compensated, so keep extremely good notes...and stay honest about it all..

there's a lot to do, so you can call me directly if you want: 216,952,1990
