Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

my daughter was injured while in a store

while in a dollar store,a garbage can full of rakes fell over& scratched my daughters arm, from elbow to hand.there was an employee right next to her,but the employee just stood there & watched while it fell.some one from the corporate office called & tried to offer me $20 for our ''inconvenience''!Are they afraid i'm going to sue them or what?My little girl won't even go back to the store now,the employee never even apologized!Offering us $20 was really outrageous...they said that my daughter could buy herself a toy!As if that will help heal her arm&she will probably have scars. Are they liable?

Re: my daughter was injured while in a store

I need additional info. about what was happening before this incident. Specifically, I need to know what the rakes looked like, how long they were in that condition, and whether you or your daughter saw it as a hazardous condition in time to get out of the way. And whether any employee of the store sai anything about the condition of the rakes. Also, I need to know what the injuries are and what future treatment will be. I agree $20 is an insult. Often times, companies try to force a cheap settlement like that before an attorney becomes involved. They know once you have an attorney, the price goes up. Please call me to discuss.

Thanks
