Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

Depositions

I was sent a court Notice of Depositions order to appear on May 21. My grandson was injured in the road in front of my former home. This is a countersuit by the driver of the vehicle. I have since moved 800+ miles from where it happened and have niether the time or the money to return to that State. What are my options?

Re: Depositions

Have you been named as a party in the lawsuit? If so, you must appear in the county where the accident occurred or suit was filed. You can request to be deposed by telephone. Do you have an attorney if you are named as a party? If you are being called as a witness and are not a party to the lawsuit, then the notice of deposition is unduly burdensome to you and alternative arrangements should be made. Is there an attorney representing your grandson? Can you talk to that attorney?
