Legal Question in Personal Injury in Ohio

Fitness club negligence

I wish to join a fitness club. The contract I am asked to sign says I waive,

release, and forever discharge the fitness club agents, representatives, etc.

from any responsibilities and liabilities arising out of any act of omission,

including negligence, by the fitness club representatives. If the fitness club

were negligent, would this contract hold up in a court of law? Is it wise to

sign a contract such as this?

They sure will argue that they are not liable for their own negligence, and it is up to the court to determine if that clause is enforceable under the specific circumstances of the injury. As long as you know that going in you are assuming that risk.
