Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Joint Survivor Quit Claim Deed - Name question

We have land transferred from mother to son & wife on Quit Claim Joint Survivor Deed. Names on new deed simply reads, John AND Sally Doe. Deed wording reads; for their joint lives, remainder to survivor of them. Intent was to have land pass to the surviving spouse immediately and automatically upon one spouse's death and NOT need to be in estate at all. Should names on deed read John And/Or Sally Doe P.O.D.?

Re: Joint Survivor Quit Claim Deed - Name question

JOint and survivorship property passes to the survivor at the moment of death. The deed language you quoted is enough to acccomplish that.
