Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Quit Claim Deed and sale of the house after divorce

I am in the process of divorce. My wife granted a Quit Claim Deed to me and now she lives in a different city. Is there any possibility (legal) that she might give me a hard time after I sell the house (e.g., demanding money, etc.). Does she have any legal rights to do that after the fact?

Thank you.

Re: Quit Claim Deed and sale of the house after divorce

If feasible, delay the closing of the sale until after the divorce is final. Barring a fraudulent misrepresentation as to the value of the property, your wife should be bound by her agreement, as documented by the quit claim deed.
