Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

squatter invasion

I have been a tenant in an apartment for 5 months now. There was a guy that was living in the apartment above me for about 3 months. He moved out and a few days after he moved out he went to jail. A friend of his started staying in the apartment above me without the landlords permission. Now there is heavy traffic in and out of there. My landlord doesn't know what his legal rights are for making the now 10 people leave. Non of whom are on a lease or have ever had permission to enter the premesis. They are drug addicts and they are loud and wake my kids, my husband and I up all hours of the night. Please tell me there is a quick process on getting these people gone. This has been going on for about 2 weeks now. Thank you

Re: squatter invasion

Dear Inquirer: Where you observe unlawful or criminal activity, your best, immediate recourse would be to contact the DEA-Drug Enforcement Agency of the U.S. Government, or your local law enforcement authority, i.e. Sheriff or Police Department. These are listed in the front of the White Pages of your telephone directory, or by calling "411" for information.

Good luck

Sincerely,

J. Norman Stark
