Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio

Failure to stop at signal

Should I contest this? I was stopped at red light in a left turn only lane behind a semi. 12:30 am. Signal (arrow) turned green and I followed semi into intersection. Semi stopped midway through turn for a few seconds before proceeding-not sure why. Light turned yellow with me still in the intersection. I stayed close to the semi and cleared intersection as soon as possible. Signal apparently turned red with me under it. State trooper was sitting in opposing traffic, and signal for opposing traffic changed to green before I could complete my turn. He asked my why I didn't stop for the signal. I told him that the signal was not red. He strongly disagreed. I'm sure his view (when I entered the intersection) was blocked by the semi. He only saw what happened when his signal turned green. I feel that I entered the intersection legally and did the right thing under the circumstances. I was driving a straight truck. Backing up was not an option. Neither was staying in intersection. No points currently on my record. I'd like to keep it that way. (It's my job security-CDL class A.) I can sign a waiver, but I don't want to plea guilty to a crime I didn't do. Is this worth contesting?
