Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio

i was recently pulled over for throwing a lit firecracker out of my car on to the street and was proceeded to be charged with: placing injurous material in roadway, littering, turning the wrong way on a one way street (when pulled over) and underage possession of alcohol. in my arraignment, the prosecutor told me she is recommending jailtime...is this a probable punishment? how can i get out of it or get a different sentence?

Richard Cline Office of the Ohio Public Defender

It is difficult to know whether jail time is likely for these offenses without doing all of the work necessary to defend the case. Because the prosecutor has put you on notice that she intends to seek a jail sentence, however, I would advise you to hire an attorney to represent you. There are lots of good criminal defense attorneys in the greater Columbus area who would be happy to assist you.
