Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio

traffic violation

I got pulled over for speeding. The officer did his routine with my liscense and insurance. He said he was citing me and have me sign a paper. He gave me the number for the court, BUT he forgot to give me a copy of the citation. So I don't know what date or time for court. And if I wanted to pay the waiver I can't because I don't have a copy of the ticket. Do I need to pay? What is my next step?

Re: traffic violation

On Tuesday, call the clerk of courts in that city, and explain the situation. You could also call the police and track down the officer.

Re: traffic violation

It would NOT be a good idea to ignore the matter just because the officer forgot to give you a copy of the ticket. If I were you, I would call the court on Tuesday and explain the situation to them.
