automatic bank withdraws

can a motgage company legally continue to take payments set up as an auto withdraw from a bank account after a person is deceased.

There is no will or executor named.

If the bank and mortgage company have not been notified of the death then it is possible that payments may still be deducted until they are notified.

If there is real estate owned by the deceased someone will need to be appointed administrator to sell or trasnfer the property.
