Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Executor of an estate in a different state

My mother and brother live in Ohio. I live in Wisconsin. My mom wants to have both my brother and I to be executors of her estate. Would it be possible for both my brother and I to be executor even though we both do not live in the same state? Is there any law that says that an executor has to live in the same state as the estate is set?

Re: Executor of an estate in a different state

Since it is your parent, both you and your brother may serve as Co-Executors or either one individually may serve as sole executor. Logistically, you just have to move paperwork back and forth for signing.
