how can i find out how much a estate is worth ? My grandfather died. My uncle get the house and the remainder is suppose to be divided. he is offering me $5,000

Should the attorney handling the case , provide this info to me. He wants me to sign a waiver of notice of probate..

You should be provided with an inventory of the estate assets which is due 3 months after the appointment of the executor or administrator.

Signing the waiver of probate only acknowledges that you know that a probate administration has been started. If you do not sign they can provide you with notice by certified mail.

If you have any questions regarding the administrtion of the estate you may want to seek your own legal counsel. The attorney for the estate only respresents the estate and does not represent the beneficiaries.
