Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Payment of Mothers debt; property distribution

brother is executor of mothers estate. Brother will get family farm, and both of us (sisters) will get joint ownership of house according to will. Mother has some $30,000 in debt. Brother says he will refuse to sell farm to pay portion of debt, but wants both or us to sell house once Mother passes to pay all debts. Also, Brother was caught going through Mothers personnel items. I assume we need an Attorney to get him to pay his share of the estate debts, and to ensure all property is properly distributed?

Re: Payment of Mothers debt; property distribution

I would suggest that you hire an attorney to protect you and your sisters interest. Be aware if that your brother hires an attorney for the estate that attorney is the estate attorney and has no duty to the beneficiaries.
